Floods in the country in 2024

This year our country faced unprecedented flood volumes, which affected residents of more than 10 regions, some lost their only shelter. This emergency situation required the help and unity of all the people of Kazakhstan.

 

The Halyk Charity Foundation, headed by its founder and philanthropist Timur Kulibayev, actively participated in the fight against the disaster, providing comprehensive financial and material support to the operational headquarters of the regional akimats.

 

“I deeply sympathize with the people affected by the flood. From the first days, we have been providing assistance to the regions affected by the floods. I am convinced that under the leadership of our President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, we will overcome all difficulties together,” said Timur Kulibayev.

 

The Halyk Foundation and Halyk Bank allocated 1.445 billion tenge from their own funds, including a one-day salary donation from employees, to help those affected by the floods in the Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Atyrau, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Almaty, Pavlodar, Ulytau, and Abai regions. In addition, the founder of the Halyk Foundation, Timur Kulibayev, decided to allocate an additional 30 billion tenge for the restoration of the Atyrau region. In total, more than 31.4 billion tenge was allocated to combat the floods.
