Helping clinics with medical equipment

During 2020, the Halyk Charitable Foundation financed the purchase, delivery and maintenance of medical equipment for a total of 488,193,422 tenge.

 

17 artificial lung ventilation devices, two full-scale mobile PCR diagnostic laboratories, including reagent kits for them, were delivered to clinics in Astana and Almaty. The operator was MediLab LLP.

 

Using the specified equipment, PCR testing was carried out free of charge for employees of the Almaty city akimat, with 1,300 samples collected. Free PCR testing was also conducted for socially vulnerable groups in the city of Shymkent. In addition, free field visits were made to the regions (Ordabasy district, Baydibek district) to provide the population with free consulting services.

 

Also in July 2020, 1,000 pulse oximeters and 100 oxygen concentrators were purchased and transferred to the State Enterprise of the Polyclinic of Atyrau for a total of 114,680,000 tenge.

 

In August, expensive medical drugs to combat COVID-19 were purchased and delivered: remdesivir and avifavir for a total of 734,000,000 tenge.

 

In October 2020, the Foundation organized and paid for the transportation of a batch of humanitarian aid from China in the amount of 32,930,800 tenge.

 

The batch of humanitarian aid from the Chinese Government included 400,000 medical masks, 100,000 KN95 medical protective masks, 10,000 rapid COVID-19 tests, 10,000 medical protective suits and 60 ventilators.

 

The total volume of the cargo was 8.9 tons, its estimated cost was 750 thousand US dollars. The received equipment and personal medical protective equipment were distributed among the regions in agreement with the Ministry of Health.

 

As part of the aid received from Kazakhstan–Chinese joint ventures — the CNPC Group of Companies — totaling 4 billion tenge, in December 2020, funds in the amount of 1,697,312,161 tenge were allocated for the purchase of medical equipment for LLP Private Clinic Almaty in order to prepare for a worsening epidemiological situation in Almaty related to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and for the treatment of cardiovascular insufficiency caused by SARS-CoV-2.

 

Five ambulances were also purchased for medical organizations in the Aktobe region for the amount of 98,448,750 tenge. Further assistance under this project with the CNPC Group of Companies is planned for 2021.
