Working Meeting Dedicated to the International Day of Charity

Today, September 5, marks International Day of Charity — an important reminder of the significance of offering help and support to those in need.

The day was established to draw attention to the needs of vulnerable groups and to stimulate social change through charitable initiatives.

Leading representatives of charitable organizations that play a key role in the development of this area and work daily to implement important social projects gathered within the walls of KazNITU named after Satpayev, at the invitation of the Halyk Foundation:

  • ⁠Gulbara Sultanova — Chairperson of the Committee on Civil Society Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Aidan Suleimenova – President of the AYALA Charitable Foundation;
  • Chingiz Sharapiev – Director of the corporate fund “Endowment Qazaqstan Halqyna” and head of the department of strategic planning and interaction with donors of the public fund “Qazaqstan Halqyna”;
  • Aruzhan Sain – Public figure, founder and director of the public foundation “Voluntary Society “Mercy” and the educational project “Mektep OnLine”;
  • Lyazzat Alzhanova – representative of the Nurlan Smagulov Foundation charity fund.

Among those invited were also:

  • Sabilya Shugelova – director of the PF “Omirge Sen”;
  • Dana Zharikova – President of the Public Foundation “Erzhan” named after E. Tatishev;
  • Raushan Alpysbaeva – Director of the State Institution “Center for Social Assistance to Victims of Domestic Violence”;
  • Rushangul Tokhtakhunova – Founder of the Ak Zhol-M public foundation and the founder of the children’s rehabilitation center of the same name, Ak Zhol-M;
  • Maria Kovzhasarova – Head of the Education Department of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Education Fund;
  • Talgar Akhmadiev – Executive director of the Republican public association “Kazakhstan Federation of All-Style Karate”.

The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences, discuss current issues of development of the charitable sphere, lawmaking and media support.

The representatives of the funds shared successful examples of their projects, inspiring their colleagues to further charitable initiatives. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. At the end of the event, the participants were awarded memorable gifts for their services both from the organizers and from the management of KazNITU named after Satpayev.

International Day of Charity also pays tribute to Mother Teresa, who dedicated her life to serving the poor and needy.

This day reminds us of the importance of solidarity, compassion and responsibility towards others.
