Timur Kulybayev’s foundation transferred 400 apartments to the Akimat of Astana for families in need of support

The Halyk Charity Foundation has handed over 400 new apartments in the Compass North residential complex to the Akimat of Astana, which will be provided to families in need of support. This project is part of the foundation’s efforts to improve the quality of life of Kazakhstanis and provide assistance to citizens, the press service of the Halyk Charity Foundation reports.

The Compass North complex was built under an agreement with the Astana Akimat in order to provide housing for those who are in particular need of social support.

“Providing housing to those in need is not just assistance, it is a contribution to building a more just society. We hope that the support of Timur Kulibayev’s Halyk Foundation will help these families gain confidence in the future. Our goal is to create conditions in which people will not only live, but also feel care and support,” said the head of the foundation, Saginbek Shunkeev.

Shunkeev also emphasized that the residents of the complex will be able to enjoy a comfortable and safe life: the territory of the complex is closed to outsiders, equipped with a video surveillance system, and sports grounds, recreation areas and walking alleys are equipped for children and adults.

The first keys to new apartments were handed over to families last year, and the distribution of the remaining apartments will be carried out by the Astana Akimat.

The Compass North residential complex consists of 11 multi-story buildings located in the area of the Nurly Zhol railway station. The total area of residential premises exceeds 20 thousand m², and the cost of construction was about 6.9 billion tenge. All apartments are delivered with finishing and are completely ready for occupancy.

I’ve been working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for 15 years, and I’ve been married for 7 of them. We have two children, and all this time we lived in rented apartments. Two months ago, my daughter was injured and hospitalized. While I was running between hospitals, I received a call from HR saying that I had been allocated housing. At first, I didn’t believe it, thought it was a joke. I only started to believe when I learned that my colleagues were also getting apartments. Overjoyed, I called my wife—she didn’t believe it either. But when she found out it was true, she burst into tears. Thank Allah! There’s nothing better than having a roof over your head! I’m grateful to the Halyk Foundation for helping ordinary families like ours,” said Turashov Zhandos, a patrol police inspector.

Since its founding in 2016, the Halyk Foundation, led by Timur Kulibayev, has provided assistance worth more than 85 billion tenge, implementing more than 120 social projects across the country aimed at supporting those in need and improving the living conditions of Kazakhstanis.
