Zhanaozen Recognizes the Halyk Foundation’s Contribution to Regional Development.

Timur Kulibayev’s Halyk Charity Foundation was awarded the honorary award “Patron of the Year”. The award was a recognition of the foundation’s significant contribution to the development of Zhanaozen and the region as a whole. This title was awarded on behalf of the city’s akimat and maslikhat as a token of gratitude for its important and large-scale work.

Key projects in Mangistau region

In 2023, a memorandum worth 4.4 billion tenge was signed between the Akimat of the Mangystau Region and the Halyk Charitable Foundation. The funds are used to implement socially significant projects that change the lives of local residents for the better.

The most significant initiatives of the Halyk Foundation in the region:

  • The revival of the Beineu Grain Terminal is an important project that strengthens food security in the region and the entire country.
  • Desalination plant for residents of Akshukur and S. Shapagatov – more than 25 thousand people received access to drinking water.
  • Modern playgrounds and football fields in Zhanaozen are active recreation and development areas for children and youth.
  • Modernization of 3 schools in the village of Beineu: contribution of the Halyk foundation within the framework of the Otpan project.
  • Construction of a sports and fitness complex in Zhanaozen – the project is planned for 2025.

As the managing director of the Halyk Foundation, Nariman Abilshaikov, noted, each of these projects is a step towards the well-being of the region and improving the quality of life of its residents.

“Mangistau region, and especially Zhanaozen, is a region with great potential and special needs for us. We are glad that the foundation’s efforts were so highly appreciated. This inspires us to work even more actively!” – said Abilshaikov.

The scale of the foundation’s charitable work

Since its foundation in 2016, the Halyk Foundation of Timur and Dinara Kulibayev has implemented more than 120 projects for a total of 85 billion tenge. The Mangistau region occupies a special place in the foundation’s charitable work due to the unique challenges and opportunities of the region.

National recognition

In June 2024, at a ceremony dedicated to the elimination of large-scale floods, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the contribution of philanthropists, including Timur Kulibayev.

Additional Halyk Foundation Awards in 2024:

  • Medal “Kaiyrymdylyk ushin” from the Ministry of Culture and Information.
  • The “Patron of the Year” award for a systematic approach and significant contribution to the development of social infrastructure in Kazakhstan, based on the results of an expert survey by the Eurasian Monitoring Center for Analytical Research.
