The Halyk Charitable Fund Will Fund Gasification of Homes in Almaty

The Halyk Charitable Fund, founded by Timur Kulibayev and Dinara Kulibayeva, has launched a new phase of a social infrastructure project aimed at improving the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups in Almaty.
In cooperation with the city’s energy and water supply department, the fund will finance free gas connections for approximately 200 private homes. The list of recipients includes large families, single pensioners, and individuals with disabilities who are unable to afford independent gasification.
“The Halyk Charitable Fund implements long-term socially oriented projects aimed at solving the basic needs of the population. Connecting to gas is a key infrastructure task, and we are happy to assist in solving it for Almaty families,” emphasized Nariman Abilshaikov, Managing Director of the Halyk Charitable Fund.

Support Worth 200 Million Tenge
Gasification will be carried out on a turnkey basis, meaning residents will not bear any costs for purchasing equipment, meters, radiators, or other necessary components. Funding totaling 200 million tenge (approximately $450,000) was provided with the support of Halyk Bank.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the city authorities. The Department of Energy and Water Supply forms lists of participants based on the official status of socially vulnerable groups of the population (SUSN).
First results
The program is already showing results. Svetlana Puzikova, a mother of many children from the Alatau District, was among the first to have her home connected to gas.
“It seemed impossible before. Now the house will be warm – and that changes everything. Thank you to everyone involved,” she shared.

From 2021 to 2023, Halyk Bank financed the gas connection of 315 homes, contributing nearly 300 million tenge. This new phase of the project continues the strategic effort to provide consistent support for urban families facing difficult life circumstances.
The Fund emphasizes that the initiative is being carried out with the support of Timur Kulibayev, who consistently advocates for an institutional approach to addressing social challenges.
“This is not charity in the traditional sense – it is a working model of targeted assistance, synchronized with government priorities,” the statement said.
