Halyk Charitable Fund and Halyk Bank Begin Providing Financial Assistance to Flood Victims in Kulsary

The Halyk Charitable Fund, together with Halyk Bank, began distributing targeted financial assistance yesterday to residents of Kulsary in the Atyrau Region who were affected by the recent floods. The fund’s founder and well-known philanthropist Timur Kulibayev allocated 31.4 billion tenge for this purpose.
“I deeply sympathize with the people affected by the flood. From the first days, we have been providing assistance to the regions affected by the floods. I am convinced that under the leadership of our President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, we will overcome all difficulties together,” noted Timur Kulibayev.
Following preparatory work, payments for the restoration of housing for citizens in Kulsary began yesterday. Damage assessments were carried out by independent experts, and lists of recipients were compiled by the operational headquarters of the akimats based on applications submitted by affected residents.
It is important to note that the funds are intended specifically for repairing existing homes or purchasing new housing. The Halyk Charitable Fund and Halyk Bank extend a helping hand and sincerely hope these measures will allow those who have survived the disaster and lost their homes to regain peace, comfort, and restore their families under a new roof.
Previously, the Halyk Charitable Fund and Halyk Bank allocated 1.445 billion tenge from their own funds—including a one-day salary contribution from employees—to assist those affected by floods in the Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Atyrau, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Almaty, Pavlodar, Ulytau, and Abai regions.
Additionally, the founder of the Halyk Charitable Fund, Timur Kulibayev, decided to allocate an extra 30 billion tenge for the restoration of the Atyrau Region. In total, over 31.4 billion tenge was provided to combat the consequences of the floods.
