The Halyk Charitable Fund Has Been Awarded the ‘For Charity’ Title

At the annual Forum of Philanthropists and Patrons, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Center for Civil Initiative Support, the Halyk Charitable Fund was awarded the prestigious Kaiyrymdylyk Ushin title “For Charity.” This recognition highlights the Fund’s exceptional contribution to supporting victims of the devastating floods that affected several regions of Kazakhstan in 2024.

The forum, a key platform for discussing the future of philanthropy in Kazakhstan, brought together leaders from business, civil society, and charitable organizations. The Halyk Fund stood out for its rapid and systematic response to the crisis, providing aid to over 10,000 people and building more than 1,000 homes in the Atyrau Region alone.

Fast and Systematic Assistance to Victims

In a situation where thousands of families were left homeless and the infrastructure of many regions was destroyed, the Halyk Fund quickly mobilized resources to provide assistance. More than 10,000 people received necessary support, and as part of the foundation’s long-term program, over 1,000 new homes were built in the Atyrau Region alone. These efforts have served not only as emergency aid but also as a systematic measure to restore regions affected by the disaster.

In addition, the Fund donated 400 apartments in the Compass North residential complex to the Astana Akimat, offering long-term housing solutions to families in need.

“It is a great honor for us to receive this award. Under the leadership of Timur and Dinara Kulibayev, our foundation strives to be there for people during life’s most difficult moments. This is not just our duty—it’s our mission,”
— Saginbek Shunkeev, Director of the Halyk Charitable Fund
