The Children’s Technical Creativity Center in Uralsk Has Reopened Its Doors

The Children’s Technical Creativity Center in Uralsk has reopened its doors after a large-scale renovation, marking the beginning of a new era in supplementary education for children in the region.

This project was implemented on the initiative of the center’s director, Bakhytzhan Maulenov, with support from Snezhanna Imasheva, Chairperson of the Legislation Committee of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the NNEF Public Foundation, and the Halyk Charitable Fund, which provided full financial assistance.

“Education development in the country is one of the fund’s main priorities. We provide grants to gifted children from vulnerable groups, equip schools with modern facilities, support teachers, and teach entrepreneurship basics to high school students. Since 2016, our fund has allocated 10 billion tenge to the education sector, including around 60 million tenge for the renovation of the children’s technical center in Uralsk. In our work, we strive to ensure that all children in our country have equal access to modern technologies and can compete successfully in the future,” said Saginbek Shunkeev, Director of the Halyk Charitable Fund.

With the allocated funds, the NNEF Public Foundation organized and carried out repair work in the center’s building. Equipment such as 3D printers and scanners, quadcopters, action cameras, monoblocks and software, educational kits, and sets for creating and programming robots were purchased.

As a result, children studying at the center will be able to acquire skills in piloting drones, creating high-quality video content, and participating in races and competitions. Fully equipped computer rooms will allow students to study the basics of robotics, engineering, and programming through hands-on activities.

“Staff from the NNEF Fund provided consultations on selecting and purchasing the necessary equipment and computer technology, and organized and carried out the building renovation. The fund’s IT universities invite the center’s teachers to attend professional development courses and are ready to provide both teachers and students with access to university resources and expert knowledge,” emphasized Maria Kovzhasarova, Head of the Education Department at the NNEF Public Foundation.

It should be noted that the NNEF Foundation, established on December 15, 1998, actively develops and promotes the Lifelong Learning system of continuous education, covering all levels—from kindergartens to universities.

Snezhanna Imasheva, Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, thanked the foundation for resolving the issue of providing the center with modern technical equipment necessary to improve the level of education for children.

“The achievements that children will be able to reach thanks to modern technologies will be a significant contribution to the future of our country,” she said.

Since its founding in 1956, the Regional Center for Children’s Technical Creativity in Uralsk has become an important educational institution where children can develop their abilities in the field of technology and technical creativity. This not only broadens their horizons but also helps them make informed career choices, laying the foundation for a successful future.

The Halyk Charitable Fund was established in 2016. Today, the fund is implementing more than 120 social and charitable projects, with more than 85 billion tenge allocated for their implementation. The founders of the fund are Timur Kulibayev and Dinara Kulibayeva.
