The AlALA Art-Eco Festival Was Held with the Support of the Halyk Charitable Fund

On June 1, the Republican Art and Eco Festival AlALA was held for the first time at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in the capital. The event was organized by the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Ahead of the festival, a nationwide creative competition was held among 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students from across the country on environmental themes. From the 250 submissions received, jury members selected the best 36 projects in six categories:
- Visual art
- Performance
- Video making
- Decorative and applied arts
- Music and poetry
- Art performance
On Children’s Day, the finalists arrived in the capital to take part in the festival and receive their well-deserved awards.
The Halyk Charitable Fund served as the general sponsor of the event and awarded the winners with large cash prizes.
“The Republican Art-Eco Festival AlALA is a unique event, held for the first time in our country, combining creative industries, children, and environmental awareness. Through this festival, we aim to nurture children’s talents and instill respect for the environment. The Head of State emphasizes that every Kazakhstani should be a responsible citizen, an adal azamat. Our common homeland is Kazakhstan, and from childhood we must care for the environment as a core value and always unite in this effort,” said Lima Dias, Chairperson of the Board of the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives.

The festival brought together students from different regions of Kazakhstan. They were united by their love for their homeland, talent, creativity, hard work, and concern for the country’s environmental situation.
“I am a cadet of the Arystan Lyceum. My duty is to serve my homeland, but at the same time, creative initiative is encouraged at the lyceum. I heard from other students that a contest was being held, and I decided to participate. Being a finalist in such a competition is a great honor for me. I am very happy for those who won because their works are truly amazing and talented! We bear a great responsibility for the future of our country, and it’s great that even now we can raise such important environmental issues. Thanks to the festival organizers for the opportunity to test and believe in myself. My summer began with very joyful moments!” — said Damir Zhumabaev, student of the specialized Arystan Lyceum.

The festival also included master classes for children, including sessions from the Talimger team, aimed at improving financial literacy.
The competition generated significant interest among high school students, and the organizers are now considering making the Art-Eco Festival an annual event.
Support for such events is one of the Halyk Charitable Fund’s programs for addressing important social issues. The fund strives to create equal and accessible opportunities for all children in Kazakhstan to express themselves in education, sports, culture, and the arts.
