
In 2022, the Halyk Charity Fund provided support to talented students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School — the team “NISKYRAN x SWB” participated in the finals of the international robotics competition HOUSTON FIRST TECH CHALLENGE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in the USA.
Students of grades 9-12 got the chance to represent our country for the first time in the final of one of the largest and most significant world robotics competitions in the FIRST TECH CHALLENGE category. The Halyk Charity Foundation supported the talented students and allocated the necessary amount to pay for their license and trip to the USA.
In April 2022, a team of physics and mathematics students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Almaty participated in the finals of the international robotics competition in Houston. The FIRST Championship is the culminating international event of the youth robotics competition season and an annual celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
For children, participation in the finals of the international robotics competition HOUSTON FIRST TECH CHALLENGE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is very significant – after all, all participants in these competitions become holders of the special status of FIRST Alumni, which gives the opportunity to receive a grant and scholarship for studying at prestigious universities around the world.
According to the results of the competition, which took place on April 20-23, the team “NISKYRAN x SWB” performed very well, became 57th out of 160 teams in the qualification, and entered the top 3 among the newcomer teams!
For all team members (15 students and two teachers), participation in the international championship was unforgettable – they gained new experience, met and made friends with participants from other countries, exchanged knowledge and became even more motivated and inspired.
