The Halyk Foundation annually allocates financial assistance for the implementation of educational programs that give each student the opportunity to achieve success in accordance with their own abilities.

In order to create favorable living conditions for the residents, improve the educational process, foster the physical and moral development of children, as well as prepare them for further socialization and adaptation in society, on May 15, 2017, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Orphanage No. 1, the Nursultan Nazarbayev Education Foundation, and the Halyk Charitable Foundation.

Thanks to this cooperation, children’s academic performance has increased over the past few years (quality of knowledge from 26% to 38.5%). Graduates of grades 9 and 11 have the opportunity to choose their desired specialties for admission to colleges and universities.

In 2019, the Halyk Charity Foundation transferred more than 10 million tenge.

On August 27, 2020, the Foundation received an official letter from the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights in Kazakhstan, Aruzhan Sain, regarding the difficult situation faced by the residents of Orphanage No. 1 in Almaty Region, whose savings (accumulated state benefits) had been stolen. As a result, 22 graduates, on the eve of leaving the orphanage, were left completely without any financial resources for independent living.

The Foundation could not leave the orphanage graduates in such a situation. By decision of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, monthly financial assistance of 70,000 KZT was allocated to each of the 22 graduates for a period of five months. The total amount of charitable aid provided was 7.7 million KZT.
