The Halyk Charitable Fund provides annual financial support for educational programs that help students succeed based on their individual abilities.

To create favorable living conditions, enhance the educational process, and support the physical and moral development of children—as well as prepare them for social integration—a memorandum of cooperation was signed on May 15, 2017, between Orphanage No. 1, the Nursultan Nazarbayev Education Foundation, and the Halyk Charitable Fund.

Thanks to this partnership, children’s academic performance has improved in recent years, with knowledge quality increasing from 26% to 38.5%. Graduates of grades 9 and 11 now have the opportunity to choose their preferred specialties for admission to colleges and universities.

In 2019, the Halyk Charitable Fund contributed more than 10 million tenge to support these efforts.

On August 27, 2020, the fund received an official letter from the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights in Kazakhstan, Aruzhan Sain, regarding a critical situation at Orphanage No. 1 in the Almaty Region. The residents’ savings—accumulated state benefits—had been stolen, leaving 22 graduates without financial resources just as they were preparing to leave the orphanage.

In response, the Halyk Charitable Fund’s Board of Trustees approved monthly financial assistance of 70,000 tenge for each of the 22 graduates over a five-month period. The total charitable aid provided amounted to 7.7 million tenge.
