
In 2020, the Halyk Charitable Fund financed the purchase, delivery, and maintenance of medical equipment totaling 488,193,422 tenge.
Seventeen artificial lung ventilation devices and two fully equipped mobile PCR diagnostic laboratories—including reagent kits—were delivered to clinics in Astana and Almaty. The project was operated by MediLab LLP.
Using this equipment, free PCR testing was conducted for employees of the Almaty city akimat, with 1,300 samples collected. Testing was also provided at no cost to socially vulnerable groups in Shymkent. In addition, mobile outreach visits were made to Ordabasy and Baydibek districts to offer free consultations to local residents.
In July 2020, the fund purchased and transferred 1,000 pulse oximeters and 100 oxygen concentrators to the State Polyclinic of Atyrau, totaling 114,680,000 tenge.
In August, the fund procured and delivered high-cost COVID-19 medications—remdesivir and avifavir—worth 734,000,000 tenge.
In October 2020, the Halyk Charitable Fund organized and funded the transportation of humanitarian aid from China, valued at 32,930,800 tenge. The shipment included 400,000 medical masks, 100,000 KN95 masks, 10,000 rapid COVID-19 tests, 10,000 protective suits, and 60 ventilators. The total cargo weighed 8.9 tons and was valued at approximately 750,000 USD. Distribution of the equipment and protective gear was coordinated with the Ministry of Health.
As part of a broader aid package from Kazakhstan–Chinese joint ventures (CNPC Group of Companies), totaling 4 billion tenge, the fund allocated 1,697,312,161 tenge in December 2020 to purchase medical equipment for LLP Private Clinic Almaty. This was in preparation for a potential worsening of the epidemiological situation and to support treatment of cardiovascular complications caused by COVID-19.
Additionally, five ambulances were purchased for medical organizations in the Aktobe region, totaling 98,448,750 tenge. Further assistance under this partnership with CNPC is planned for 2021.
