Halyk Berekesi is a project of the Halyk Charitable Fund aimed at supporting socially vulnerable groups and assisting families facing difficult life situations.

The first initiative, “Bereke City,” was launched on July 10, 2016, in the Madeniet microdistrict of Almaty. Since its inception, 50 families have received support, eight of whom have gone on to acquire their own housing. Currently, Bereke City includes 65 apartments. In July 2020, the Halyk Charitable Fund allocated 78 million tenge to furnish 40 apartments with furniture and appliances that had remained empty due to a lack of funding.

Thanks to its comprehensive approach, the project helps break the cycle of poverty and enables families to regain stability. As a result, the initiative was expanded under the broader Halyk Berekesi brand.

The Halyk Berekesi project includes:

  1. Construction of Social Housing
Multi-apartment buildings are being developed in the Zhambyl, Turkestan, Almaty, and Kyzylorda regions, as well as in the city of Shymkent.

    Each building includes 48 apartments:

    • 65 m² units for families of four or more
  2. Housing Program
Temporary housing is provided free of charge to families in difficult life situations, with a social assistance agreement lasting one to three years.
  3. Support and Advisory Services
