The Halyk Charitable Fund provided over 5.5 billion tenge in assistance to support Kazakhstan’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds were used to purchase essential medical equipment and medications for hospitals across the country, as well as to provide financial support to frontline healthcare workers.
The Fund could not stand aside while medical professionals risked their lives to protect the health of the nation. Despite overwhelming workloads, the threat of infection, the uncertainty of the virus, and immense emotional strain, Kazakhstan’s medical workers stood strong—true heroes in a time of crisis.
As a gesture of gratitude, from March to May 2020, the Halyk Charitable Fund made direct cash payments to healthcare workers totaling 117,707,898 tenge.
In April 2020, the Fund also provided hot meals to medical staff and police officers stationed at checkpoints in Zhanaozen, amounting to 1,332,000 tenge.
Additionally, in May 2020, the Fund purchased personal protective equipment (PPE) worth 20,010,000 tenge to support healthcare facilities in Almaty.
