The “Halyk” Foundation provided assistance to the country in combating the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic totaling over 5.5 billion tenge. These funds were used to purchase essential medical equipment and medications for hospitals across the country, as well as to reward medical workers.
The Halyk Foundation could not leave aside those who were directly on the front lines and selflessly resisted the infection, because our medical workers are real heroes. Despite the enormous workload, the danger of infection, the unknown virus and moral stress, they held the line, fighting for the lives and health of Kazakhstanis.
In gratitude, from March to May 2020, the Fund made cash payments to medical workers in the amount of 117,707,898 tenge.
Also in April 2020, the Foundation provided hot meals to medical workers and police officers deployed at checkpoints in the city of Zhanaozen, for a total of 1,332,000 tenge.
In May 2020, personal protective equipment worth 20,010,000 tenge was purchased for the needs of the city of Almaty.
