Grain Terminal Resumes Operations in Mangystau Region
The Beineu grain terminal in the Mangystau region has officially resumed operations, thanks to the support of the Halyk Charitable Fund, which allocated 1.8 billion tenge under a charitable assistance memorandum with the Akimat of the Mangystau Region. The funding was used to restore infrastructure and ensure the terminal’s continued operation—strengthening both regional food security and Kazakhstan’s export potential.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of restoring the terminal as part of the socio-economic development of the Mangystau Region. The launch of the Beineu grain terminal is a strategically important step in this direction. The project will not only ensure the region’s food stability, but also strengthen export capabilities and create new jobs,” said Nurdaulet Kilybay, Akim of the region.
The terminal’s design capacity includes 100,000 tons of one-time grain storage, 400 tons of flour production per day, and 25,000 tons of bran annually. Its cargo turnover reaches up to 2 million tons per year, and it has created approximately 200 jobs. Products from the terminal will be exported to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.
The infrastructure of the Beineu terminal also enables it to serve as a land-based transshipment hub for exports to Caspian region countries, further enhancing the economic potential of the Mangystau region and its role in international agricultural trade.
The Halyk Charitable Fund, founded by Timur Kulibayev, consistently supports the development of the Mangystau Region by investing in projects that are vital for this important area. Since 2023, the Fund has allocated 4.5 billion tenge to the region, including 1.8 billion for the restoration of the Beineu grain terminal. This is not just infrastructure—it means new jobs, stability for local entrepreneurs, and a stronger national export capacity,” said Saginbek Shunkeev, Director of the Halyk Charitable Fund.
Originally commissioned in 2010, the modernization of the Beineu grain terminal aligns with Kazakhstan’s national strategy to enhance food security and expand agricultural exports. President Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of such infrastructure projects in driving sustainable economic growth and regional development.
