Children’s Future Is a Priority: The Halyk Charitable Fund Expands Regional Projects
Ahead of International Children’s Day, the Halyk Charitable Fund, founded by Timur Kulibayev and Dinara Kulibayeva, highlights its commitment to protecting childhood and fostering opportunities for every child’s development, according to Toppress.kz.
The foundation’s long-term initiatives span Kazakhstan, ranging from support for social institutions to the construction of educational infrastructure and the development of sports programs.
Support for children with special needs
In honor of the holiday, representatives of the foundation visited children undergoing rehabilitation at the Ayala Center for Special Social Services and the Konayev Day Care Center, delivering gift sets and creating a festive atmosphere.
The foundation places special emphasis on supporting children with special needs. The Akzhol-M Foundation, which focuses on rehabilitating children with neurological disorders, received specialized equipment to aid in the restoration of speech, motor, and cognitive functions.
We didn’t just come with gifts—we came with warmth. Every child, especially those facing difficult life circumstances, should feel cared for and know that adults are close by,” said Galymbek Zhaksylykov, Executive Director of the Halyk Charitable Fund.
Educational infrastructure for the future
A highlight of the celebration was the opening of a kindergarten for 280 children in the village of Auliekol in the Kostanay Region. This year, the kindergarten celebrated its first graduation, with 15 children receiving gifts from the foundation as they prepare to start school.
Although we opened in the middle of the school year, parents were eager for us to launch a preparatory group. Today, we’re celebrating the graduation of 15 children, and next year we plan to graduate two groups—around 50 children,” said Svetlana Birzhanova, head of the kindergarten.
Sport as a development tool
The Halyk Charitable Fund actively promotes children’s and community sports across the regions.
In the Mangistau Region alone, more than 50 children’s and sports playgrounds have been installed, equipment in three schools has been modernized, and a new physical education and wellness complex is under construction.
Particular attention is given to children in rural areas. The #AUYLSPORT project, which includes six sports, has already shown promising results: the 2024 winners went on to earn prizes at the International Gymnasium.
Systematic work in the interests of children
From its earliest days, the Halyk Charitable Fund has consistently invested in initiatives focused on supporting and empowering children.
In recent years, 2.6 billion tenge have been allocated for educational grants alone.
