Arystan Lyceum Graduates Its Twelfth Cadet Cohort

The Arystan Specialized Lyceum, which trains elite representatives of the Kazakh army, has graduated its 12th generation of cadets this year.
The lyceum currently has 240 students from different regions of the country. This year, 80 graduates crossed the threshold of the educational institution.
The festive event began with a ceremony where graduates demonstrated the school’s flag, symbolizing the prestige of the lyceum and its traditions.
Arystan provides cadets with the opportunity to stay in a boarding school, receive free education, and access everything necessary for comfortable study. When enrolling students, special preference is given to children from low-income and large families.
“I’m proud to be a graduate of this institution, as it only admits educated and active students. I spent several years preparing to enter this lyceum. I learned about it online and, reading that it is the most prestigious military school, immediately began honing my knowledge. Studying here, I deeply embraced patriotism for my country and homeland. I believe that the knowledge I gained here will allow me to contribute to the development of our nation,” said a student from the Almaty SOS Children’s Village.
The Arystan Lyceum is a prestigious educational institution that meets high international standards. Every year, 10–12 students compete for each available spot.
According to the Director of the Halyk Charitable Fund, Saginbek Shunkeev, more than 900 graduates have completed their studies at the lyceum since its establishment. This year, 80 cadets received their diplomas and stepped into adult life.
“The main goal of the Halyk Charitable Fund is to select and create conditions for quality education for children from low-income and large families. Cadets receive free education in the boarding school and are provided with everything they need. Upon graduating from the lyceum, cadets go on to study at the country’s prestigious universities. Today, some of them work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Committee for National Security, the border service, and various law enforcement agencies such as the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Security Service,” said Shunkeev.
At the ceremonial graduation event, the head of the lyceum, Lieutenant General Murat Zhalelovich Maikeyev, summarized the results of the academic year. On this day, graduates received their certificates, badges, and gifts.

The Arystan Lyceum is one of the educational institutions that receives ongoing support from the Halyk Charitable Fund. In 2024, Halyk supported the Nursultan Nazarbayev Education Foundation in opening the specialized Arystan Lyceum.
The idea of creating the educational institution was conceived and implemented in 2008 by the Nursultan Nazarbayev Education Foundation, with the active support of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dinara Nursultanovna Kulibayeva, as well as one of the main founders of the project and Chairman of the Lyceum’s Board of Trustees, Timur Askarovich Kulibayev.
