100 Mangistau teachers completed the Halyk Foundation’s Talimger course and are ready to teach entrepreneurship
In the Mangistau region, a ceremonial presentation of certificates to 100 teachers who completed training as part of the first stream of courses on career guidance and entrepreneurship of the Talimger project took place, a Kazinform agency correspondent reports.
The program, implemented by the Halyk charitable foundation of Timur Kulibayev, as well as with the support of the akimat of the Mangistau region, is aimed at developing among schoolchildren and students modern skills that are in demand in the conditions of the new economy.
The courses covered a wide range of topics: from career guidance techniques to the creation and implementation of business projects. Teachers got acquainted with modern tools for financial, digital and media literacy, and also gained access to unique teaching materials that will be introduced in schools and colleges in the region starting from the new academic year.
— This first graduating class is an important milestone for our region. We see the interest and enthusiasm of teachers who are ready to pass on the knowledge they have gained to their students. I am confident that through joint efforts we will be able to nurture a new generation of proactive, creative, and responsible citizens, — says Kuralay Gazimova, Deputy Head of the Department of Education of Mangystau Region.
According to the head trainer of the Talimger project, Asemgul Kadyrkhan, the program is aimed not only at students, but also at teachers, because they are the ones who form the habit of thinking outside the box, taking responsibility and seeing new opportunities in the younger generation.
Teachers who have completed the training also share their impressions.
— During the course, we learned so many interesting methods! Now I will be able to conduct lessons in a new way, involving students in real projects. Many thanks for this initiative, which inspires us to move forward, — says Anar Tokbaeva, a teacher at Karakiya Professional College.
Ergali Gulzhan, teacher-vocational therapist, psychologist of the Aktau city gymnasium:
— I especially liked the practical part of the program — cases, business games, discussions. This gives confidence that we can prepare students for real life.
— Talimger is not just a course, but a whole development system. I thank the Halyk Foundation and everyone who supported the project. Now we can give children more than just knowledge from a textbook, — added Aimgul Zhanadilova, Deputy Director for Professional Training at Aktau General Education School No. 19.
The training of teachers will continue in the next stream, and starting from September 2025, the subject “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Business” will be introduced in all schools and colleges of the Mangystau region.
Let us recall, the Talimger project is part of a large-scale program of the Timur Kulibayev Foundation for the development of the region. This course fits organically into the priorities outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his Address to the Nation: ‘The fundamentals of entrepreneurship should be taught from schools to universities.’ Initiated by the Halyk Foundation, it became a timely response to the demand of society and the state for practice-oriented education.
