1,000 families received food packages from the Halyk Foundation

The Halyk Charity Foundation distributed food baskets to 1,000 families in the Almaty region. The foundation’s support was received by low-income families living in the Karasai, Zhambyl, Enbekshinsky, Iliysky, Talgarsky districts, as well as mothers with many children raising children with special needs.
According to the Managing Director of the Foundation, Nariman Abilshaikov, this event has been held systematically since 2020.
“As part of our programs, we often support low-income, large families facing difficult circumstances with food baskets. This is not a one-time initiative; it has been carried out systematically since the pandemic. In 2020–2021, over 100,000 food packages worth more than 2.5 billion tenge were distributed. This year, we plan to expand the scope of this initiative. Ahead of the new school year, we have scheduled support for 500 children from low-income families, providing them with school uniforms and all necessary learning materials.”

The fund’s staff received a list of low-income families from local executive bodies. Food baskets were distributed to the homes of those in need.
One of those who received support from the Foundation was Venera Koshaeva, a resident of the village of Birlik in the Karasai district. Venera has five children. The family rents a house on the outskirts of the village. The family does not have a stable income.
“This food supply will last for 3-4 months. Pasta, sugar, flour, tea are our daily needs. In our current situation, receiving food is a great help. We thank the Halyk charity foundation for such support!” – said the mother of many children.
