
The Halyk Charity Foundation allocated 25,000,000 tenge to support the Almaty Digital Ustaz competition in 2021.
Almaty Digital Ustaz 2021 is the first competition among teachers aimed at improving digital competencies.
The goal of the competition is to help reduce the digital divide in the use of technology, effectively use digital infrastructure in schools, scale up new teaching methods and promote the city of Almaty as a center of new educational technologies.
The main Mission of the competition is to form a new architecture and content of education through providing wide access to digital technologies in education and digital content to meet the individual needs of students.
The competition defines a new attribute of a teacher – “to become a teacher of the digital era “Digital Ustaz”, who is not afraid of technology, selects joint educational and digital technologies, creates modern educational content.
More than 3,000 applications from teachers in Almaty were submitted to participate in the competition. The competition included educational intensives covering a wide range of digital pedagogy issues and training master classes from recognized world practitioners, which preceded the completion of competition tasks.
The annual city competition of teachers of Almaty “Almaty Digital Ustaz” was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was held within the framework of the implementation of the Program for the development of human resources of education workers of Almaty “Almaty Schools”.
