Halyk Berekesi is a project of the Halyk Foundation aimed at supporting socially vulnerable groups of the population and providing assistance to families in difficult life situations (DLS).

The first project, “BEREKE CITY,” was established on July 10, 2016, and is located in the “Madeniet” microdistrict of Almaty. Since the project’s launch, 50 families have received support, eight of whom later acquired their own housing. At present, the total number of apartments in BEREKE CITY is 65. In July 2020, the Halyk Fund allocated 78,000,000 tenge to furnish 40 apartments with furniture and appliances, which had remained empty due to a lack of funding for their equipment.

Thanks to its comprehensive approach to the problem, the project helps break the cycle of poverty and helps the family “get back on its feet”, so it was decided to scale the project under the general brand Halyk Berekesi.
