Grain terminal resumes operations in Mangistau region

The company’s cargo turnover reaches 2 million tons per year.
The Beyneu grain terminal has resumed operations thanks to the support of the Halyk Foundation, which allocated 1.8 billion tenge under a charitable assistance memorandum with the Akimat of the Mangystau Region. These funds are aimed at restoring the infrastructure and ensuring the continued operation of the terminal, strengthening the region’s food security and Kazakhstan’s export capabilities.
‘President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of restoring the terminal as part of the socio-economic development of the Mangystau Region. The launch of the Beyneu grain terminal is a strategically important step in this direction. The project will not only ensure the region’s food stability, but also strengthen export capabilities and create new jobs,’ — said Nurdaulet Kilybay, Akim of the region.

The design capacity of the terminal is 100,000 tons of one-time grain storage, 400 tons of flour production per day and 25,000 tons of bran annually. The enterprise’s cargo turnover reaches 2 million tons per year, and about 200 jobs are created. The terminal’s products will be exported to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
The infrastructure capabilities of the Beineu terminal allow it to be used as a land transshipment complex for further export to the countries of the Caspian region. This expands the economic potential of the Mangistau region and strengthens its role in international trade in agricultural products.

‘The Halyk Foundation of Timur Kulibayev consistently supports the development of the Mangystau Region by investing in projects that are vital for this important area. Since 2023, the foundation has allocated 4.5 billion tenge here, of which 1.8 billion went to the restoration of the Beyneu grain terminal. This is not just infrastructure — it means new jobs, stability for local entrepreneurs, and the strengthening of the country’s export potential,’ — said Saginbek Shunkeev, Director of the Foundation.

The Beyneu grain terminal was commissioned in 2010. Today, its modernization aligns with the national strategy to strengthen food security and increase agricultural exports. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly emphasized the importance of such infrastructure projects, which contribute to sustainable economic growth and regional development.
